Does this sound like you?

  • overwhelmed at work and at home

  • drained and exhausted, mentally and physically

  • sensing mental and emotional distance from your job, or perhaps even feelings of negativity or cynicism towards your job

  • feeling helpless when it comes to your work responsibilities

  • experiencing emotional detachment, isolation and increased work anxiety

If so, you may be experiencing burnout, defined by the WHO as “burnout is a syndrome conceptualized as resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed.”

Burnout is physical, mental, and emotional exhaustion that results from chronic, unmanaged stress. The negative consequences include energy depletion, feeling mentally distanced from one’s job, and feeling less able to meet work demands. In the workplace, burnout leads to lost productivity, decreased energy and concentration, increased conflict, repeated illness, and leaves of absence. It also affects relationships and quality of life both personally and professionally.

Think about a battery which holds a certain amount of ‘charge’. Work activities are always going to be something that deplete our battery charge, however certain activities should be able to recharge us. Burnout happens when there is a consistent imbalance between what is depleting and replenishing our batteries.

Stonewall Counselling Center is proud to present a 4-hour workshop on the topic of burnout, intended as an educational workshop designed to maximize your awareness of burnout, increase your understanding of your triggers, effectively beat burnout and prioritize holistic balance!

What can I expect?

You can expect a warm, welcoming and educational environment for 4 hours, hosted in our beautiful office on main street Stonewall. Lunch is not provided, however lunch can be brought to the office, or you can visit one of the many close restaurants during the lunch break.

What is a workshop?

A workshop is a collaborative educational group experience intended primarily as an educational support. Workshops are not a substitute for individual therapy, and participants are encouraged to pursue alternate therapeutic options at Stonewall Counselling Center or otherwise to support their mental health alongside the workshop.
